Alan Mantooth, a prominent figure in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the executive director of the UA Power Group, has been awarded the 2023 Harry A. Owen Jr. Award by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Power Electronics Society. This recognition comes as a result of Mantooth’s two decades of exemplary contributions to the society, including roles in technical operations, standards, publications, mentorship, and his tenure as society president. Established in 1996 and named in memory of Harry A. Owen Jr. from Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering since 2011, the award celebrates outstanding dedication and contributions to the Power Electronics Society.
